If your dreams don't scare you, they are too small.

HEAR YOURSELF

Sometimes we need to hear something to believe it.

  1. Lace up your sneakers and go for a walk - or sit quietly with your eyes closed - anyplace where you can hear yourself think.

  2. While you’re walking, speak out loud with excitement about how amazing life and/or work is right now, as if you have already accomplished your vision. (Earbuds help with this if you’re in public so people think you’re talking to a friend).

WARNING: THIS EXERCISE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

I did this exercise nearly every day for almost a year.

- I lost about 50 lbs doing it.

- I have checked off everything on that vision list (including building my business to where it is today, becoming a mom and meeting a romantic partner who surprises me with travel plans and flowers).

I still do this exercise on the regular and I’m still checking those boxes!

SHARE YOUR VISION

Even when we’re winning, it’s easy to fall off-track.

We need people we can trust to hold us accountable; a friend or trusted advisor who can guide us back onto the road. Like the old song goes, “[we] get by with a little help from our friends.”

Call, text or email a friend today and share your vision with them.

  • Ask them to read it.

  • Tell their what your first step will be in making progress towards one part of your vision.

  • Ask them to check in on you in two weeks to see what progress you’ve made in that first step.

When we know someone has our back - or is just around the corner checking in to see (in a supportive and compassionate way) how we’re faring as we do hard shiz, it can often make the difference between success and failure.

A study by The Association for Talent & Development cites that having an accountability partner increases a person’s chance of achieving their goal to 95%.
